[ Clematis (Clematis texensis Princess Kateā„¢) | Posted on July 13, 2017 ]

Once this Clematis begins blooming it creeps up its support and blooms well into August. The flowers hold their integrity for a long period and the petals do not shatter when touched. This vine is a strong grower.

[ Giant Fleeceflower (Koenigia alpina) | Posted on March 3, 2017 ]

This is a clump forming plant not the invasive plant. I have been growing it for 7 years now and it hasn't moved or seeded around. It has a long bloom period, It is a great back of the border plant or can be used as an architectural plant.

[ Speirantha gardenii | Posted on January 12, 2015 ]

I am growing this plant. It was sold to me under the name Speirantha convallarioides. So far it hasn't bloomed but the foliage is still evergreen and seems to be holding its own in the 2 degree temperature at night.

[ Sponge Gourd (Luffa aegyptiaca) | Posted on July 19, 2014 ]

When the fruit is about 6" long, it is good eating. Just peel off the bitter skin and enjoy as you would any cucumber.

[ Wild Lesser Mallow (Hibiscus hirtus) | Posted on June 7, 2014 ]

Very different. Lovely.

[ Leopard Plant (Ligularia dentata 'Desdemona') | Posted on August 27, 2013 ]

Ligularia dentata 'Desdemona' is a dependable flower for late summer. The foliage holds up well and is not bothered much by insect damage. Hot summer sun can make the foliage wilt, but it recovers as the sun goes down. This plant is happier with some shade in the hot afternoon. Mine isn't in the shade, but it still performs quite well.
