This E. setosa oteroi differs from the setosa ciliata and setosa deminuta in that there are no bristles on the leaves. The outer leaf edges are slightly turned upward in a cup shaped way.

Surprisingly, I found this Delosperma basuticum 'White Nugget to be not just short in height but also compact in its growth spread. This is ideal for those who would want to enjoy a Delosperma but don't have the growing space for the taller and wider spreading Delosperma that are more readily available.

This aeonium, large in size and sturdy to the touch, can have cup-shaped leaves, which water can sit in. Unfortunately, this can result in leaf edges becoming sunburned. I recommend not watering the tops of the leaves or planting near something that can drop water onto the leaves.

In zone 9b, semp was planted in stone container. Easily retained shape and form in uncovered container last winter. Fuzzy texture colored a frosty pale rose in spring. What a robust little sempervivum!

I have never grown Jerusalem Artichoke (sun chokes), but I discovered them recently at the supermarket and now they have replaced the artichoke in my boiling pot. I find that the sun chokes taste almost like artichoke hearts, but there's no need to deal with the leaves and the prickly beard near the heart. Eating sun chokes is like getting artichokes hearts' taste and texture but without the fuss.
