I discovered a few cultivars of Miscanthus grasses (Eulaliagrasses) including this 'Silver Feather' in the early 1990's in the west suburbs of Chicago. At first I really liked them and this one. However, after several years I discovered that the three 'Silver Feather' Eulaliagrasses were getting too big for the triangular bed in which I planted them and that the centers of the plants had died out. It was very difficult to dig them out of the ground to reset them and throw away the dead centers. I even cut my hands some on the sharp blades. I had to use a hacksaw to cut and divide the plants. I reset them, but it was so hard. Then I found out that this cultivar also is one that escapes cultivation and seeds itself in the wild and becomes an invasive exotic plant. I don't recommend this plant. It does eventually get really big and falls over a lot. So do the other large cultivars.
