I saw one of this species standing out as a specimen in a condominium landscape with its very silver foliage. It is native to Madagascar. The foliage can have some differences of steel-gray to blue-gray to silver white. It is slow growing when young, but will grow at a moderate rate when getting some maturity in it. This palm is harder to transplant than most other palms as it does not like its root system disturbed. Nurseryman have to root prune larger plants in the field some time before they move it.
