This is a host plant for Zebra Swallowtail butterfly. This is not the tree pawpaw that people normally think of and this is not grown commercially. It does make a lovely, striking addition to the garden.Unlike many of the pawpaw; the flowers of this variety are beautifully fragrant -- sort of a citrusy scent. This particular variety is native to Florida, southern Ga., & rarely southern Alabama. It can be propagated from seed. Grows in dry, well drained, sandy conditions & can easily withstand 12 hours of full sun. The fruit matures in early summer.
