In the 70's and 80's I grew the Chicago Green hubbard in Virginia's New River Valley. I also grew the Blue Hubbard, but preferred the green hubbard. I tried it in Georgia, but this climate is tough on Hubbard types. It is a large squash that is very good for pies. Very hard rind and a superb keeper. Size is a handicap for small families.
