Low, shrubby Aeonium with rosettes to about 2.5 inches wide and white or cream-colored flowers. Leaves are pale green or glaucous green to yellowish, often with purple stripes on the underside. From La Gomera in the Canary Islands.

This plant is not common in cultivation (except perhaps in variegated form as Aeonium castello-paivae 'Harry Mak'). However, it is easy to propagate from cuttings and it tends to branch a lot. Rosettes grow wider and stems go floppy in part shade.

This species can be distinguished from the similar A. decorum based on its stems (smooth, not rough) and its leaves (shorter, wider).

This species appears similar to A. Haworthii. However, the leaves are more pruinose, and longer in length. The Castello-Paivae hybrid 'Suncup' has smaller rosettes, and a more delicate appearance.
