This is one of the Madagascar Minature Euphorbias, which are a group of miniature trees, being closely related to E. ambovombensis, E. decaryi, E. cylindrifolia and E. francoisii. The species has crinkly leaves and flowers freely. This species can be considered a more sun loving and a faster growing version of E. ambovombensis or E. decaryi, as well as having smoother skin than E. ambovombensis. This species is Critically Endangered, only known from Cap Saint Mary in Madagascar. This species requires full sun, and generous watering in the summer. It goes dormant in the winter. This species is a good choice for succulent bonsai.
