If you are able to only grow one variety of eggplant, grow this one. Amazingly drought tolerant and productive. Flavor, as eggplants go, is top-notch. I much prefer the Asian style eggplant- much easier to cook with because all slices are roughly the same size. I have tried a number of the Asian types and Ichiban is still number 1!

Medium size plant that grows well and sets long slender fruits. Very tasty. The leaves are unusually pretty for an eggplant as they have deep purple veining and a purple blush along the middle of each leaf.

My favorite eggplant. Productive and a useful size. The best flavored eggplant on my taste buds. Medium size plant that stands well without staking.

Highly productive eggplant that puts out long, slender, and tasty fruits. The branches of this eggplant get longer than those of other types of eggplants and might need some sort of support when many eggplants are present on the tiny branches. It will need more room than the traditional eggplant varieties. Flea beetles also seem to love this plant, so make sure to watch out for tiny little black beetles making little holes in leaves.
