This is an old hybrid developed by the Michael-Leonard Company in 1942. It is supposedly a cross between Stowell's Evergreen and Golden Bantam. Large plant and ears like Stowell's but golden kernels. Much better flavor than Stowell's and more tender than Bantam, it was also sold as Aristogold. We grew it in the 50's and it was better than anything else available at the time. Have not seen it for years, though.
