    This was a favorite in the 30's and 40's. At that time there were many local canneries and this was the most popular tomato grown for sale to these canneries, as well as a favorite for home canning. It was superseded by the Rutgers, but it is a good round medium size red. Smooth and easy to peel. Did not use a lot of fertilizer in those days, so plants were bushy and manageable. Four feet in general. Lack of disease resistance did it in.

This guy produced a few small tomatoes for us. They were pretty tasty and the color was nice, red and yellow swirled. We wish he would have produced more than he did.
