A beautiful small fruited variety that sets many fruits and just keeps on blooming. Skin is tender, no peeling needed. I also love the fact that the small fruits are so pretty. I plant to grow Fairy Tale again next year. In fact, I plan to plant three plants instead of one, to keep myself and friends in eggplant.

This charming compact plant is suitable for containers. The fruit is striped purple and white and tends to form in clusters. Fruit is small, 2"-4" long, with few seeds. Could be sold as a gourmet "baby" vegetable. Disease and insect resistant (so far) in Zone 9b in a container planting. The seed company recommends low nitrogen (for all eggplants) for maximum fruiting.

I grew two of these compact, highly productive plants in containers last year. The fruit is lovely and taste is good. The only thing I did not like is how the skin turns an ugly brown when cooked. The fruits are too small to peel effectively, especially by people who are clumsy with a knife like me.
