    Noted by Antique Rose Emporium:
" ‘Papa Gontier’ is a wonderful eye-popping red Tea rose that makes an ideal specimen in any garden. Growth is slow the first year, but like most Teas, it more than makes up for it the second and third year. The new growth is a bronze color and is very showy. The rose was bred by the French rose breeder, Nabonnand."
