Distinctive Mammillaria from north-central Mexico with long, protruding, widely spaced tubercles and bright yellow flowers. Stems are green and solitary or often offsetting. Tubercles are armed with about 1 (0-3) central spine and 8-10 nearly white radial spines, none of which are particularly threatening. From Hidalgo and Querétaro, Mexico. Relatively common in cultivation. Provide strong light and excellent drainage. Large clumps can be quite striking, especially in flower.
