    Small, usually solitary, spiny cactus from southern Baja California with dense wool and bristles. 3 central spines, 12-15 thin radial spines. Flowers are a creamy color with yellow or green tints and pink-brown midstripes.

    Island endemic from the former Cerralvo Island, recently renamed Jacques Cousteau Island, in the Gulf of California near La Paz. A second Mammillaria species, Mammillaria cerralboa, is also endemic to this island, with narrower, taller stems and yellow spines.
