Small Mammillaria with pink flowers from south-central Mexico. Stems are normally solitary and about 2 inches in diameter. Axils may or may not be wooly. Tubercles are well armed, with 0-1 central spine and 10-12 pale yellow or whitish radial spines. Flowers are pinkish with pale or white throats. Fruit is cryptocarpic and concealed within the stem. Seed may take a long time to germinate; older seed may give better results than fresh seed. Roots are thick and engorged. From Puebla. Stems tend to sit at soil level in habitat.
This plant is reputed to be somewhat difficult in cultivation. It requires strong light and excellent drainage. The flowers are excellent.
