This big time award winner (AGM 1995; FCC 1992; AM 1987) has been used as a seed parent twice and as a pollen parent 10 times. Mrs Richardson, the hybridizer, orginally discarded the cultivar but it was rescued by the du Plessis brothers and subsequently registered by them in 1980.
