It doesn't always get mentioned that some hostas, such as 'Golden Meadows,' don't keep their colors for the whole season. Another that comes to mind is 'War Paint,' which goes all green sooner than 'Golden Meadows.' Either way, they are both very striking. 'Golden Meadows' in particular has a tremendous contrast of blue green with a bright cream center when fresh in the early spring that is hard to beat, but for those purchasing it for the first time, just be aware that it changes to an all dark bluish green by mid summer.
