    Maramec originated in Oklahoma in 1933 and is suspected to be a seedling of Mahan. In Georgia trials, Marmec demonstrated below average productivity and produced a large number of unfilled nuts, which results in a lower yield. Average harvest date was October 19th. Marmec is not recommended for the southeastern states because productivity is too low.
    Marmec does bear a large pecan, but its flavor is resultantly dry and flat. It is recommended as a yard tree in north Texas.
    A Type 2 pollinator, which requires a Type 1 pollinator for nut production.
    Maramec is a recommended cultivar for the very southeastern portion of Missouri.
    In Oklahoma, Maramec is recommended, but only for sites south of I-40 and is marginally recommended for sites between I-40 and Tulsa.
