Matthew Martin has an interesting color combination. What one needs to REALIZE is the changes he makes throughout the day (as seen in the most confusing photos). If you observe it at the end of the day (as I did on his 1st bloom), you wonder how 'Persian Ruby' made its way into your garden!!

I used to grow 'Matthew Martin' in my garden for years and loved it! I didn't think I'd like a brown Daylily, but I was wrong. It's a beautiful colored Daylily and I loved seeing outside of my kitchen window where I had it planted, every year I had it. I can still think in my mind, years later, how stunning it was in bloom! It was a good grower for me and a joy to grow.
I used to grow around 400 or more Daylilies and had to get rid of most of them, 'Matthew Martin' included. It's an oldie, but goodie in my mind and truly worth growing!
