I needed a fast-maturing cucumber variety to try out this fall as I got my seeds started late. At 50 days, Double Yield fits the bill. A small fruited pickling type that is reported to be extremely productive. It is late in the season, so I hope I still have time to get fruits.

I tried Double Yield late in the season last year and decided to plant them again this spring. The seeds germinated quickly and the plants grew well. The cucumbers are small, but I ate them fresh just like my slicer varieties. I had to remember to pick them small as they never were meant to grow large.
