This cultivar has good dark green foliage, fragrant white flowers in May that are fragrant and bloom well most every year, and persistent, abundant, red crabapples about 1/2 inch in diameter. It is generally very resistant to the diseases that can strike crabapples as Apple Scab, Cedar rust, and Fireblight. It was selected by Professor Milton Baron of Michigan State University and introduced to the trade by the huge Lake County Nursery in northern Ohio.
