Lamium purpureum is a mint-family plant known as purple dead nettle. It is said to be high in a number of nutrients including antioxidants, those cancer-busting compounds we can all use more of!

Very invasive, blooms and drops seeds in late winter before I ever get out. The few I used to ignore have become a few thousand. They are everywhere. I sprayed them with round up and they laughed at me. Maybe a stronger mix would do better, or full strength! Problem is they have grown over entire flower beds that have plants in them. Spray is out of question there. Sigh, rolling my eyes.

A very prolific weed here in my garden, easy to pull, and dies out by itself
by summer. One of the first things to flower in the spring, and the honey bees go for it.
It will cover whole farm fields and make them look purple.
