Papa use to grow վարունգ Armenian Cucumber. They were unlike those I grow and see today, but were the same size, from one end to the other.

For fun, he would put the business end, the flower or the small cuke, into the open end of a 1-gallon bottle (glass in those days). The cucumber would grow to the end of the bottle, around the bottom, and back toward the open end. Daddy would put it on the table. Looked like a spring, about as round as a 50 cent piece or a little larger, maybe a silver dollar. Satisfied with himself, he was. God, I love him.

Well, the thing is, I grow Armenian Cucumber, but the fruit looks different -- sometimes big at the blossom end or....

I think I still have a little pill bottle. The seeds in it look very likely. Maybe they are it. Now there are other seeds from those bottles I planted that did nothing. Had trouble lately with old seed.

    We'll see.
