A showy, white, notched wildflower in Illinois that blooms summer through fall on disturbed ground, roadsides, and fields. The flowers have 5 petals, 1 to 1.5 inches across, staggered on many-branched sticky stems up to 4 feet tall. Leaves are paired on stem, long and broadly rounded.
Can grow as an annual, biennial, or perennial depending on environmental conditions.
The night-opening flowers inspired the common name Evening Campion.
