Pedro Dot's Pernetiana roses are vastly superior to the earlier Pernetianas, which were almost powerless against pests and disease, usually had rather muted colors, and sometimes exhibited loosely arranged petals that tended to look too messy for discerning rose lovers. Condesa de Sastago is my favorite of Pedro Dot's roses. The blooms combine all of the colors of a tropical fruit salad and hold their shape well, and the foliage has above-average resistance to disease.
