Plant the bulb with the top third above soil level in a well-draining medium in a container size that has edge of bulb about an inch from the sides. Water sparingly until foliage a/o flowering scape appears. At that point, water regularly. After flowering, remove spent flower and bulb stem and provide good light. As soon as the weather stabilizes into the summer mode place plant into garden. (I usually plunge plant and pot into an outside site that gets lot of sun) Feed weekly with an organic liquid fertilizer until foliage matures (appx. late July). At that point, cease watering and allow plant to rest a couple of months. (I usually take plant and container back inside to a warm (minimum 55°) and dark place).
After plant has rested, one may re-initialize growth by repeating exercise described above: should bloom again about 2 months from re-initialization.
