Dailmanach ranks as a heavyweight in the world of daffodil breeding. Introduced to the world in 1972 by John S. B. Lea from England, this white and pink single daffodil (2 W-P) has figured as a resource in successful genetic crosses over a hundred times (102 recorded times). All but 6 of these have resulted in a named cultivar. Dailmanach served as the seed parent 36 times and as pollen parent 55 times. Programs in England (including Northern Ireland), Australia, New Zealand, and the United States have utilized Dailmanach from 1983 to 2012 and probably beyond.
