The forest lily, Veltheimia is a South African bulb named in honor of August Ferdinand Graf von Veltheim, an 18th century German patron of botany.

Mine are grown in the basement under fluorescent lights blooming during the winter. After bloom, reduce watering till dormancy kicks in. Resume watering after new green growth noted. Veltheimia do not like disturbance and are happy, in my experience, for year's in the same pot. Pot up like an Amaryllis with the top of bulb free of soil. A rather unique indoor winter bloomer.
