    The original plant, from Chiapas, Mexico around 1860, has not been collected in the wild. It is believed to be either a hybrid, Anthurium berriozabalense x Anthurium (Anthurium clarinervium) or endemic to a very small area. For this reason you will often see it as Anthurium x leuconeurum. It differs from A. clarinervium in having no leaf lamina on the basal/posterior rib at the sinus (naked).
