I wonder now if the round was very dry last year before my MAS appeared to disappear for a couple of weeks. Because it has done it again recently. Rain was often forecast so I ended up not watering some daylilies much. I again feared that MAS had died. Others near it still had leaves although a bit wilted. Recently I began giving plants a good soaking every week as it was still hot and quite windy. Fortunately a few days ago leaves reappeared on MAS.

So, handy to know that some cultivars, notably MAS, appear more prone to doing this than others. I am glad I didn't plant something in its spot.

I thought I had lost MAKING A SPLASH, but it must be deciduous here in sub tropical Australia. Under my pine needle mulch I just found some healthy grey green knobs about to burst into leaf. I am glad as it is stunning.

Our winters are very mild. We rarely get a freeze. A few of my SEvs are deciduous here. Also a few registered as Dormants don't lose leaves here.
