Vavoom has blooms the color of orange juice, vivid without being garish. The intensity of its colorful blooms, however, is not matched by vigorous growth. In my garden it has been a weak rose, halting its upward growth at about 2 feet and staying quite narrow, no more than 18 inches in diameter. It is so prone to black spot that it's defoliated for much of the year, even when all of the plants surrounding it exhibit no signs of black spot. I've had it for about 10 years, but it has been declining for the last 5. Today it's no more than 10 inches tall and still shrinking.
