Low-growing Echeveria from central Mexico with yellowish green, light brown or gray leaves. Leaves are thick and convex underneath. Flowers are yellow or orange. Rare and supposedly difficult in cultivation. From San Luis Potosí and Querétaro. This species has absorbed the former Echeveria xichuensis from Guanajuato and Hidalgo, a very pretty plant which looks similar but has wider leaves with ridges on top, and pink flowers (light yellowish orange on the inside, like humilis proper). This latter plant, which appears here and there in cultivation, was distributed as E. xichuensis by the Huntington in 2015 (ISI 2015-26).
