Tree yucca to 8-15 feet tall from the Cape region of extreme southern Baja California. Creamy yellowish white flowers. Described in 1998 by Lenz. Leaves are longer and more pliable than the more common Y. valida, another Baja California endemic tree yucca which replaces Y. capensis to the north, with a much wider distribution. The two species may form occasional natural hybrids.
