Received this as a bare root from Palatine in 2011. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Survives zone 5 winters with minimal mulch protection. No scent. Does not like extreme sun at my altitude. The petals blacken quickly. OK vase life (3-4 days). Not thorny at all. Doesn't seem to suffer from winter kill badly either. I have it planted in poor sandy soil, but even then I don't feed it very often.
