    Yellow flowered Echinocereus from northern Sinaloa, southern Sonora, and southwestern Chihuahua. This subspecies of E. subinermis can be distinguished from Alicoche (Echinocereus subinermis subsp. ochoterenae) based on the following features: solitary or 1-2 branches, sometimes spineless, 5-9 ribs, floral tube only slightly wooly.
