This classic daffodil, Corofin, is a small-cup daffodil bred by J, Lionel Richardson from Ireland. It was registered with the RHS in 1943. It has an illustrious history in the world of daffodil breeding as the origin of 36 named daffodil cultivars plus 9 noted seedlings. Corofin sired 38 offspring as a seed parent and 7 as a pollen parent. Breeders from five countries incorporated Corofin into their programs from 1952 to 2012.
