Peony 'Cavatina' (Saunders, 1935) is a Albiflora x officinalis hydrid single: deep rose, very early blooming, large gold center, red tipped carpels, dark green rounded foliage, 26" tall. Bred by A.P. Saunders (1869-1953), a chemistry professor at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He is famous for his inter species crosses and introduced around 300 hybrid peonies with the median distribution around 1941.
