A no fuss echi with a long bloom period. Beautiful flowers are bee magnets and it's easy to divide. In well draining soil they can take lots of water, I have one with Japanese Iris, or no supplemental water.

I got these in 2018, all three came back 2019, but in 2020, I only have one of the three. They get all morning to midday sun, shade for the rest of the day, the bed may stay just too moist for them. Shorter than standard coneflowers, they were about 18 inches for me. Update: I dug the remaining plant today and it barely had any roots. I really think it they not like the heavy soil, a lot of clay as it was near the deck and a lot of subsoil was dug up and made the bed poor. (Black and blue salvia and Siberian iris seem to like it just fine though, doing great )

This new purple coneflower, an All-America Selections winner, differs from all the others in flower color, branching, and plant size. It packs major flower color on a compact plant for a long time. Deep rose flowers that are 3-4" wide hold their intense color longer than other coneflowers and are on branched stems that only grow to 2' or so. The plant reblooms continuously all summer without needing deadheading.

As with all the other coneflowers, give it full sun and average to dry conditions. It is easy and very rewarding.

I bought 2 of these last spring and they grew so fast I had to move one to give them more space. They bloomed all summer and into October for me. Outstanding summer bloomer!

I started mine from seeds Feb. 2017. They grew well and bloomed last summer. I collected the seed heads in Dec. for one of the seed swaps here. Those perennial plants returned early this spring and are blooming their hearts out now in June. They are growing in a hot, dry area on the west side of my house and doing beautifully. I want more colors for next year since they are so durable.

This was the first year I could find plants of Pow Wow Wild Berry at the local nurseries, and I promptly bought and planted them. They came into bloom shortly after planting and just kept on, and on, and on blooming: blooming all summer long into September. I didn't have to do anything to them to keep them in bloom. No deadheading, nothing. Now all I have left are the dead flower seedheads on the plant and I will see whether it self seeds some new plants for me.
