Charles and Cindy Black write about this plant: 'Burnt Saffron' is a very unusual hibiscus that blooms with large 7-9" flowers in shades of dark, "burnt" orange. Our goal with this variety was to bring the dark color influence of 'Black Dragon' into an orange-colored flower. We were fortunate to get this result of the cross between 'Saffron' and 'Black Dragon.' The upright bush is somewhat slow in growth and does not branch readily, but it does flower a lot on existing branches and the flowers are an intriguing mix of "burnt orange" colors. Released from HVH in 2010."
