Paeonia 'Carol' (Bockstoce, 1955) is a red, double, early, 32" tall, officinalis x lactiflora hybrid. Good stems, but requires support. Cardinal red, full flower with large petals arranged in a rosette. Slightly fragrant, no side buds. William S. Bockstoce (1876-1963) Pittsburgh, PA. worked mostly on officinalis x lactiflora crosses. Of his 16 introductions, 'Carol', 'Henry Bockstoce' and 'Dianna Parks' remain popular.
