Peony 'Butter Bowl' (Rosenfield, 1955) is a 36" pink, lactiflora cultivar. A Japanese type flower with a butter yellow center surrounded by rose-pink petals, which fade to shell pink. A vigorous, upright grower. Originated by J.F. Rosenfield (1855-1934) Indianapolis, Indiana. Appears that one of his more famous peonies is 'Karl Rosenfield, which was introduced in 1908.

Description: Fragrant floriferous pink Japanese form peony with a huge buttery yellow center. It has a wide fan of rose-pink guard petals, which fade gradually to shell pink as they age.
Note about name: Registered as 'Butter Bowl', but also known as 'Butterbowl'.
