I have seen this one sometimes have dark tan/ almost a tan/brown in cooler climates (as well as light tan, and almost a tan/pink like the 2 photos I've posted, too). I do think it has to do with how the angle of the sun shows through the standards when looking at this iris too, along with the weather and different types of soil composition.
