North Wind Larry is part of The Three Amigos Collection. I expected more from a northern hybridized daylily. Stayed at one fan for years before finally starting to increase slightly. If I knew how poorly it would do before buying, I would never have planted it.

My plant was not purchased thru Gary Schaben directly. I now always buy from the hybridizer. It was slow to increase. The place where it was purchased digs in fall, and at that time it would refrigerate the plants until they were sold. This may have made a difference. So, it is a large plant now, consistently very well budded with reliable re-bloom. Most years, it will also send up a few extra scapes late in the year. What I like the most is that those tall scapes stay upright. Happy with this daylily in Illinois.
