I purchased this little cutie along with a couple of other miniature Sinningias during the summer and immediately planted them in terrariums, where they are thriving! I like growing in terrariums because with the humidity that builds under the glass, it allows for less watering! I do check on occasion and if it seems there is too much moisture building up in the terrariums, I remove the lid for a while so as not to cause the plants to rot. I'm not good at remembering to fertilize any of my plants, but when I do, it's always at a much diluted strength than recommended on the label!

Sinningias are tuberous plants in the Gesneriad family of plants. Relatives of the African Violet, they require the same type of care: bright light, high humidity (which terrariums or domes provide) and a well-draining potting medium. For the plants to remain low and compact in form, they require a high amount of light but will also bloom in lower light situations as well. When neglected, the Sinningias will die back, but once the tubers have formed they will re-sprout again.
