Hydrangea paniculata Fire and Ice 'WIMS RED' (PP26005, 2015) was developed by Wim A. M. Rutten (Leende, NL). A cross between two non patented hydrangeas: 'Pink Diamond' as the female parent and 'Dharuma' as the male parent. Large shrub growing to 6 to10 feet tall with green/red foliage and red/brown stems. Flowers creamy white in early summer, turn dark pink in midsummer and then a very deep red in autumn. This color change is the focus of the patent.
