    R. virginiana plena is also called St. Mark's Rose by some sources, and is listed as a Miscellaneous OGR rather than a Species Rose under the American Rose Society classification system, but may be listed as a species roses under other systems. Because St. Mark's rose is very old, there is some question as to whether this is the rose to which this name historically refers.
