bloominholes2fill | On May 23, 2018 | Miscellaneous Event I have this rose in honor of my father, who passed in Summer of 2009, because he was a veteran and his favorite flower was the red rose. I stumbled across it in the Fall of 2009, while wandering my favorite nursery, feeling very low. There it was, the only one they had, and it was calling my name, so I brought it home and planted it, and nothing filled my heart with joy more, than that day! It bloomed up until 3 years ago, and this year (2018) I was going to dig it up and send it to the bone yard, but there are buds on it, once again!!! I couldn't be more moved by this rose at this moment!! I love you, Dad! It turns out that the root stock took over and the blooms are no longer VH! I'll be replacing it with an authentic VH from the roots, next year.... |
