In 2014, I purchased this beauty in spring from Flowers By The Sea and it was blooming its head off when it arrived. Beautiful purple flowers!

After I got it, I planted it into a container, cut all buds and flowers off (so it would put all its energy getting rooted in), and in no time it was back in bloom and continued to be a blooming machine from spring through fall.

I grew Mesa Purple for a few years in a container, and 'Elk Phoenician Purple' surpasses it by a mile and is a winner! I got rid of 'Mesa Purple' and plan to only grow 'Elk Phoenician Purple'.

Very happy to be growing this one! It didn't overwinter for me in 2015, but I'm thinking of growing it again.

Edited to state..... 'Elk Phoenician Purple' was the original name given to it when I grew it in 2014.
