Salvia 'Elk Hot Tamale' is a beautiful new Salvia that I'm growing this year. After it started flowering, I began seeing a hummingbird working all the flowers every day, and more than once a day. I'm so ecstatic about this Salvia! I love it that the hummers love the flowers! I got this Salvia with them in mind. I'm always going to try to get at least one plant to have in the garden every year. As the season progresses, I'm sure to see more than one hummer at the flowers at all times.

This year, I have one 'Elk Hot Tamale' by itself in a large black nursery tub and I have another 'Elk Hot Tamale' in a 20-inch container with another smaller plant.

'Elk Hot Tamale' is a new introduction by Flowers By The Sea in Elk, CA. This is where I buy the majority, if not all of my Salvias.
